Following on from last year’s very successful Writers’ Day at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena, once again we offer this unique opportunity to take part in creative writing workshops led by inspirational and multi-talented tutors.
This year, we welcome Colin Herd, poet and lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow and Australian born author Meaghan Delahunt.
The Thrill of Editing? with Colin Herd
This workshop focuses on taking your writing to new and unexpected places through experimental editing techniques. People often think of editing as laborious and a chore, but this workshop places editing right at the heart of the creative process, and above all shows how it can be great fun.
Colin Herd was born in Stirling and lives in Edinburgh. Published works include too ok and Glovebox, as well as Oberwildling , a collaboration with SJ Fowler based on the life and work of German Expressionist Oskar Kokoschka. In 2014 the poem ‘rug design’ from Glovebox was highly commended in the Forward Prize. Colin frequently collaborates with artists and poets alike. He has published over 60 reviews and articles on art and literature. With Reuben Sutton, he runs The Sutton Gallery in Edinburgh, which alongside its visual arts programme also features frequent poetry events.
