Timelines of the Scottish Harp, from Before Burns to the 21st Century
Martin John Henry and Gillian Fleetwood will guide the audience through an evening of Scottish music from the ancient to the contemporary. Exploring some of Scotland’s oldest music on one of its oldest instruments - the Scottish harp or clársach. We will look at the development of our country’s music through the eras of Robert Burns and the beautiful examples of traditional harps in Dean Castle collection and bring it up to date with contemporary songwriting.
